Products improving occupational health and safety

Great interest was shown for the possibilities to disseminate Swedish work environment knowledge and products adapted to the work environment within the Baltic States. A two-day workshop was arranged in Tallinn, Estonia, in November 2002. Almost 60 participants from Estonia and Sweden participated in the workshop. This shows that there is a strong, growing interest for occupational health and safety in Estonia.

Conclusions:

• The need for work environment knowledge and products adapted to the work environment is great in Estonia today and the need will grow during the coming years.
• There is a great opportunity for Swedish companies to take a position on the still relatively open Estonian market. Best are the possibilities to market products, which, in addition to an improved work environment, will also generate an increase in productivity and require moderate investments.
• It is our opinion that the conclusions stated above are true also for the other Baltic countries.
