GIG i Poland working with biorefineries

The polish Central Mining Institute GIG is partner of the European Research project Biosynergy with the aim to develop technology and conceptual designs (including integrated chain assessments) of innovative BIOrefinery processes.

This EU research project combines both biochemical and thermochemical pathways with process development from lab-scale to demonstration at pilot-scale. It will use side-streams of current bioethanol production plants to create added value, thereby making bioethanol production more cost competitive.
The BIOSYNERGY consortium consists of 17 partners and has a high level of industrial participation: 8 institutes, 2 universities, 4 SMEs, 3 industries.
