Baltic 21 Institute for Sustainable Industry is a network for research institutes, universities, companies, business associations and authorities.

It works for catalysing sustainable development of the industrial sector in the Baltic Sea region; bridging knowledge gaps between countries.

EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region

An EU strategy for the Baltic Sea Region has been adopted by the EU commission as communication on the 10th of June this year.

A communication from the Commission to the European Parliament concerning the European Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region has been adopted.  
Main areas are to make the region:
  • Environmentally sustainable
  • Prosperous (e.g. promoting innovation)
  • Accessible and attractive
  • Safe and secure
